Shared Hosting Emails

We’re committed to looking after your business, and from 31st January 2019, will retire our shared hosting email service.

Moving forward, we have put in place three flexible options (detailed below), all of which are great for business. Tell me why?

1. Enterprise email powered by Rackspace

A robust email service built for businesses, with a generous 25GB limit per mailbox. Cost: £2.50 per mailbox per month (free setup & migration)

2. Gsuite for business

Perfect for teams that work collaboratively. Shared calendars, file sharing and more direct from the browser.  If you’re a fan of Gmail, this is the one for you. Cost: £3 – £5 per mailbox per month (+20% off first year, free setup & migration)

3. Microsoft Office 365

The ideal solution for users that use Outlook and Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Pick the ideal licence for your needs, with desktop Office (i.e. installed as normal), online Office only, just email or all. Costs: From £8 per mailbox per month (free setup & migration)

What counts as a mailbox?

A mailbox is a full account that can send and receive, and incur the per head cost detailed above.  You can have as many alias (forwarding) addresses free of charge e.g. sales@ delivering into name@.

Why the change?

Separating the email service from the web hosting, gives us more control on the way we build and operate our platform.   For you, this means better hosting speed, greater security, increased reliability on email services and is designed to support you as you grow.

We’ve settled on each of the service options above, as the top products in the market and have worked hard with our suppliers to keep the prices as low as possible.

Shared hosting inherently means you share resources with other customers (some outside of our control).  While we ensure all our customers act responsibly and ethically, not all others do. In 2018/2019, we’re looking to move away from shared resources all together, while looking carefully at keeping the pricing as close to the existing levels as possible.

When?

The hard limit is 31st January 2019. We’ve given a large notice period, to give time to review and decide on the best option. We’re on hand to talk through and help at any point.

Do I have to change?

Yes – we have to make the occasional decision that’s in the best interest of all customers and we will terminate the current service on 31st January 2019.

You also have the option to move your hosting away, but we sincerely hope you’ll stay.

Next steps

Simply let us know your preferred option and ideal time to move and we can coordinate everything else.  We will be emailing those customers impacted throughout June 2018, including personalised recommendations and cost illustrations.

We’re here to help answer any questions and make the transition as seamless as possible.
