Circular 5 Mile walk, Wye, Kent

October 18th, 2008

Covered by Ordnance Explorer Map 137 (Ashford).

Below is a Google Map of a 5 mile circular walk from Wye Station, Kent.  This walk uses some of the North Downs Way and offers impressive views over the North Downs from the Wye Crown and the Devils Kneading Trough.  It’s a really nice walk and would suit most abilities, though the step section (marked on the map) is quite steep.

The Challenge Itself

September 15th, 2008

Welcome to our “3 Trails Challenge” website, 610 miles, 24 days and 3 National Trails.  The route we are planning runs from Dover (Kent) to Sennen Cove (Penzance, Cornwall) and includes the length of the stunning North Downs Way, South Downs Way and the South West Coastal Path as far as Penzance.  As neither of us can afford 24 consecutive days off, the journey will be split into 5 sections of 4-5 days each, with the average day clocking in over 25 miles (plus more with my enthusiastic navigating).  We hope to raise over £4 per mile and raise a total of £2,500 for charity.

We would like to thank you for having a look and once we have agreed our event with our charity, will set-up a “Just Giving” page.  Thanks for your support - James Montgomery & Vanessa Rickett.
