The former US vice president Al Gore the Alliance for Climate Protection are set to back the launch of .eco domain names with Dot Eco Ltd.

Proceeds from the sale of domains will be funding environmental causes such as climate change. No-one can deny the importance of protecting our environment and hopefully the response will be a postive one. One issue may occur if the majority of registrants are companies, charities and indivuduals are themselves environmental campaigners and then the money may go full circle.
